The NHL announced it is cutting its full-season schedule from October 15 to November 10, which means the season will be cut short by roughly two weeks.

The NHL said the decision came after discussions with owners, players and other stakeholders, including the NHLPA.

The shortened schedule will see the NHL debut an 18-game regular season and a 10-game playoffs, a change from the 16-game schedule it used to have before the lockout.
